Meza; Commissioners John Tomerlin, I. J. Kibodeaux, Virginia Cline, and Tom C. Simons. MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None. OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: J. R. Hudgens, City Administrator; Margie Goyen, City Clerk; Knox Askins, City Attorney; H. F. Freeman, Chief of Police; Stan Sherwood, Parks & Recreation Director; R. L. Caldwell, Acting Public Works Director; Paul Hickenbottom, • Fire Inspector. OTHERS PRESENT: Gordon Hart, John Courville, Fred Westergren, E. A. GANVA-S~S ~REE~ULTS r3F REGULAR ELEC'i'T~N ;O~' AP~t2L 7 , 19 7 9', AND CONSIDER APPROVING PROPOSED ORD'INANCE' NO'. 1150` -- ORDINANCE DECLARING RESULTS OF`REGULAR ELECTTON - T e Commission canvassed the election results of April 7, 1979. There was a discussion regarding the number of total voters for the City Election. There was a discussion with the election judge, Lou Lawler, E. A. Thomas, and the Commission. After the proposed ordinance was read in full, motion by Commissioner Kibodeaux, seconded by Commissioner Simons to approve Ordinance No. 1150 as read, declaring the results as follows: CITY COMMISSIONER, POSITION 1: John L. Tomerlin 585 CITY COMMISSIONER, POSITION 3: Jenny Riley 279 E. A. "Buck" Thomas 322 • Virginia Cline 520 Run-Off Election to be held April 28, 1979 Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. NAYS: None. CAPTION: AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE REGULAR ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE ON APRIL 7, 1979, FOR THE ELECTION OF A CITY COMMISSIONER, POSITION l; AND A CITY COMMISSIONER, POSITION 3. + + + • ~ ~ • Special Meeting 4/11/79 3 3. ADJOURNMENT - Motion by Commissioner Cline, seconded by Commissioner Tomerlin that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. NAYS: None.
