1982-83 BUDGET
SEPTEMBER 8, 1982
Meeting called to order by Mayor Cline at 7:00 P.M.
Members of the Council Present: Mayor Cline, Councilpersons
Norman Malone, John Longley, Ed Matuszak, Kevin Graves, Lindsay
Pfeiffer, Deotis Gay, Don Skelton, Linda Tnlestergren
Members of the Council Absent: None
Members of the City Staff Present: City Manager Jack Owen, City
Secretary Betty Waters, Director of Administrative Services Bob
Herrera, Chief of Police H. F. Freeman, Fire Chief Joe Sease,
Director of Parks and Recreation Stan Sherwood, Fire Marshal
Paul Hickenbottom, Director of Public Works Jerry Hodge, Chief
Inspector David Paulissen, Graduate Engineer John Joerns
Others Present: Frieda Beaty, Baytown Sun; Dick Bell, Bayshore
Sun; 15 citizens
• Mayor Cline stated the purpose of this Public Hearing is to pre-
sent the proposed 1982-83 budget of the City of La Porte for a
public review.
City Manager Owen reviewed and summarized the proposed Budgets,
General Fund, Water and Wastewater, Capital Improvement, Motor
Pool and Revenue Sharing.
Mayor Cline asked if there was anyone present in the Chambers
wishing to address the budget.
Mr. B. J. Faulkner spoke concerning total budget figures and taxes.
Mr. Beaurinsen spoke concerning waste in the budget.
Mr. Como discussed water and sewer charges.
There being no further comments to be heard, Mayor Cline declared
the Public Hearing closed at 7:48 P.M.
