MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL CALLED MEETING
LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL
SEPTEMBER 27, 1990
1. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 7:30 P.M.
Members of City Council Present: Mayor Norman Malone,
Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Alton Porter, Deotis Gay
(arrived at 7:38), B. Don Skelton, Jerry Clarke
Members of City Council Absent: Councilpersons Mike Cooper,
Ed Matuszak, Bob McLaughlin
Members of City Staff Present: City Manager Bob Herrera, City
Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Cherie Black, Assistant
City Manager John Joerns, Finance Director Jeff Litchfield
Others Present: Paul Martin, Bond Counsel; Pete Fischer and
David Fetzer, Financial Advisors for the City
Bids for $1,500,000 General Obligation Bonds, Series 1990,
were opened and read by Pete Fischer; bids for $2,100,000
Waterworks and Sewer System Revenue Bonds, Series 1990, were
opened and read by David Fetzer.
2. Council considered an Ordinance authorizing issuance of
$1,500,000 City of La Porte, Texas, General Obligation Bonds,
Series 1990.
ORDINANCE 1727 - ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF
$1,500,000 CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS,
SERIES 1990; EXECUTION OF A PAYING AGENT/REGISTRAR AGREEMENT;
AND ALL OTHER MATTERS RELATED THERETO, INCLUDING IMMEDIATE
EFFECTIVENESS.
Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to adopt Ordinance
1727 and award $1,500,000 general obligation bonds to
Prudential Bache. Second by Councilperson Gay. The motion
carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays.
Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Porter, Gay, Skelton,
Clarke and Mayor Malone
Nays: None
3. Council considered an Ordinance authorizing issuance of
$2,100,000 City of La Porte, Texas, Waterworks and Sewer
System Revenue Bonds, Series 1990.
ORDINANCE 1728 - ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF
$2,100,000 CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, WATERWORKS AND SEWER

SYSTEM REVENUE BONDS, SERIES 1990; EXECUTION OF A PAYING
AGENT/REGISTRAR AGREEMENT; AND ALL OTHER MATTERS RELATED
THERETO, INCLUDING IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVENESS.
Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to adopt Ordinance
1728 and award the bid to Prudential Bache in the amount of
$2,100,000. Second by Councilperson Porter. The motion
carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays.
Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Porter, Gay, Skelton,
Clarke and Mayor Malone
Nays: None
3. There being no further business to come before the Council,
the meeting was duly adjourned at 8:17 P.M.
