MINUTES OF THE EMERGENCY MEETING OF THE
LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 27, 1991
1. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 12:00 Noon.
Members of City Council Present: Mayor Norman Malone,
Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Mike Cooper, Ed Matuszak, Alton
Porter, Deotis Gay, B. Don Skelton (arrived at 1:25), Jerry
Clarke
Members of City Council Absent: Councilperson Bob McLaughlin
Members of City Staff Present: City Manager Bob Herrera, City
Attorney Knox Askins
Others Present: State Senator Chet Brooks, Mrs. Chet Brooks,
Anna Brooks
2. Council adjourned into executive session under V.A.T.S.
Article 6252-17, Section 2(E) (Legal) to meet with attorney
to discuss Houston Chemical Services, Inc./Southern Ionics,
Inc. Council heard a report from Senator Brooks. Council
returned to the table at 1:44 P.M.
3. There being no action taken and no further business to come
before the Council, the meeting was duly adjourned at 1:45
P.M.
