CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Mayor Alton Porter at 5:32 p.m. Members Present: Mayor Alton Porter, Howard Ebow, Tommy Moser and Chuck Engelken Members Absent: None Staff Present: City Secretary Martha Gillett Others Present: None 2. The November 7, 2006 minutes were approved. Motion was made by Councilmember Moser to approve the minutes as presented. Second by Councilmember Ebow. Motion carried unanimously. Ayes: Mayor Porter, Chuck Engelken, Tommy Moser and Howard Ebow. Nays: None Abstain: None 3. DISCUSS RECRUITMENT PROCESS AND TIME TABLE FOR SELECTION OF A CITY MANAGER The Committee discussed the following items: The Committee requested the City Secretary to work with the Police Chief in coordinating background information on the applicants in order for the Police Department to conduct background investigations. The City Secretary will contact the applicants and obtain the needed release forms and personal information needed to conduct the background investigations. Education background checks will be conducted after interviews. All other background investigations will be done prior to interviews. The next committee meeting will be held on Monday, November 20th, 2006, in the Council Conference Room at 5 :30 p.m. 4. REVIEW RESUMES RECEIVED TO DATE FOR THE CITY MANAGER POSITION Page 2 The Committee reviewed and discussed applicant's resumes. 5. DISCUSS INTERVIEW PROCESS The Committee noted they would like to start the interview process the week after Thanksgiving and strive to fill the position after the first of the year. Once applicants to be interviewed have been identified, the City Secretary's Office will coordinate travel and lodging arrangements of applicants.
