Keith T=nine= requested that Mayor Cline give the Commission an
update o- t=_ trip she made to Austin for a TML meeting on upcoming
bills to be proposed during this Legislature.
Mayor Cline stated that she did not feel that an amendment allowing
Police Chie=s to appoint the top two police department positions or
the revision pertaining oral exams used in conjunction with pro-
motional exa-~s would necessarily be a good practice for smaller
police depart-~ents such as La Porte's.
A lengthy discussion followed concerning all proposed amendments,
with the Commission being in agreement that it would be a good idea
