Call to Order The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mike Mosteit at 6:00 p.m. Committee Members Present: Chairman Mike Mosteit, Vice Chairman Mike Clausen, Members Chuck Engelken, Alternate Member John Zemanek and Alternate Member Daryl Leonard. Committee Members Absent: None Other Council members Present: None Members of City Employees Present: City Manager Ron Bottoms, City Secretary Martha Gillett, Public Works Director Steve Gillett, Office Coordinator Peggy Lee, GIS Manager Brian Sterling, Planning Director Tim Tietjens and City Engineer Rodney Slaton.. Others Present: John Saveedra of Harris County, John Randolph of Harris County, Mr. Rothmund, Cheryl Westmoreland, Donald Davis, Linda Smith, Charles Nute, Manly Boudreaux, Marie Wallace, Richard and Ellen Winn and Jerry and Philyis Rusk. 2. Consider approval of Minutes of the Drainage and Flooding Committee Meeting held on June 28, 2010 — M. Gillett. Motion was made by Committee Member Engelken to approve the minutes as presented. Second by Committee Member Leonard. The motion carried. Ayes: Mosteit, Engelken and Leonard Nays: None Abstain: None Absent: Clausen 3. Receive presentation on status of Brookglen Detention Pond projects and provide direction to staff - T. Tietjens. Planning Director Tim Tietjens provided a presentation on the status of Brookglen Detention Pond projects. The committee directed staff to move forward with part of project and do a comparison between sheet flow and the detention model. 4. Receive presentation on status of various desilting projects and provide direction to staff — T. Tietjens Planning Director Tim Tietjens provided a presentation on the status various desilting projects. The committee directed staff to move forward. 5. Receive presentation on Proposed Partnership Project List to be submitted to Harris County Flood Control District and provide direction to staff regarding list prioritization. T. Tietjens Planning Director Tim Tietjens provided a presentation on the Proposed Partnership Project List to be submitted to Harris County Flood Control District. The committee directed staff to prioritize the list by referring to the Drainage Master Plan. 6. Receive presentation on Drainage Maintenance Program and provide direction to staff — S. Gillett Public Works Director Steve Gillett provided a presentation on the Drainage Maintenance Program. The committee directed staff to move forward and place the report on the City's website. 7. Committee Comments A. Matters appearing on agenda B. Inquiry of staff requiring a statement of specific factual information or a recitation of existing policy. The Committee did not have comments. 8. Executive Session - pursuant to provision of the Open Meetings Law. Chapter 551 Texas Government Code, Sections 551 -071 through 551.076, 551.087 (consultation with attorney, deliberation regarding real property, deliberation regarding prospective gift or donation, personnel matters, deliberation regarding security devices, or excluding a witness during examination of another witness in an investigation, deliberation regarding Economic Development Negotiations.) 9.
