PRESIDING: Jack Owen, Chairman
1. CALL TO ORDER - Jack Owen called the meeting to order
2. READING OF THE MINUTES - Minutes of the March 11 meeting were read and
approve ere was no meetin March 18 due to lack of a quorum and March
25 meeting was cancelled by Chairman Jack Owen.
Motion to approve the minutes as read was made by David Paulissen
Motion seconded: Delbert Walker

3. OLD BUSINESS - Article 3 - Division 5 - Sec. 3.11 (d) was discussed and tabled.
FIRE CODE REVISION - Article 3 - Division 5 - Sec. 3.20 was discussed
and tabled.
FIRE CODE REVISION - Article 3 - Division 5 - Sec. 3.21 was discussed and
tabled.
4. NEW BUSINESS - Article 3 - Division 7 - Sec. 3.27 (a & e) was discussed and
approved to read as follows:

incinerators or boilers to which they are connected, shall be constructed,

(1) All cooking equipment, except in single and ~lti-family
dwellings, shall be placed under an exhaust system in canplaince with N.F.P.A.
96. Said .cooking equipment and exhaust system shall be protected by a dry
chemical extinguishing system in complaince with N.F.P.A. 17, installed and
inspected at least once a year by afire extinguishing ca~any licensed by
the State of Texas for installation and servicing of fixed fire extinguisher
systems. Said .cooking equipment shall not be used unless the exhaust system

and dry chemical extinguishing system are in proper working order.
(e) All filters or grease retention elements installed in an exhaust
system designed to expel stroke, gas and vapors from any room or enclosure in
which cooking appliances are installed and operated, except in residences
and mslti-family dwellings, shall not be removed without berg replaced with
another approved filter. All filters and grease retention elements shall be
inspected and cleaned of all grease deposits and residue at least once daily.

Article 16 - Division 6 - Sec. 16.35 (a - f)
This article was presented and discussed. It was decided to table this
revision until more study is done.
