CITY OF LA PORTE
INTER-OFFICE MEMORANDUM
July 8, 1982
T0: Jack Owen, Fire Code Review Committee Chairman
FROM: Paul R. Hickenbottom, Fire Marshal
SUBJECT: La Porte Fire Code, Article 37
I recommend that Article 37 of the La Porte Fire Code remain as
approved, subject to being deleted if the following section is
added to the new proposed Planning and Zoning Ordinance.
"NO OCCUPANCY DEFINED IN THE LA PORTE BUILDING CODE AS A
HAZARDOUS OCCUPANCY BE ALLOWED ON PROPERTY ZONED COMMERCIAL,
UNLESS BY SPECIAL USE PERMIT OR THE PROPERTY IS REZONED
INDUSTRIAL."
When the new proposed Planning and Zoning Ordinance is adopted,
and if the abovementioned section is included, I recommend that
the Fire Code Review Committee delete Article 37 of the La Porte
Fire Code because of duplication.
