Tim Bird expressed his view of how the review process was progressing. He wanted to find out if the
Fire Dept. and the Fire Marshal could review the code and submit our review and possible
amendments.
Assistant Fire Chief Champ Dunham and Interim Fire Marshal Philip Creamer expressed that it could
be done and that the Fire Dept could get a couple of Fire Fighters to assist with the review.
Several other board members expressed the same thought process. The Fire Marshal and the Fire
Dept. are familiar with the Fire Codes and how they affect the city and the public. They are the ones
with the knowledge and experience. The Fire Code Review Board Members are having a tuff time
reviewing the new code against the old code. The terminology and current policy can be confusing.
Interim Fire Marshal Philip Creamer agreed to review the Fire codes and make recommendations at
the next meeting.
Assistant Fire Chief Champ Dunham agreed to have two Fire Fighters and himself review the fire
codes and make recommendations.
Interim Fire Marshal Philip Creamer needs to supply the Fire Department with three copies of the
current code, code amendments, new IFC code, and recommended amendments.
The Fire Marshal's Office and the Fire Department were asked to share information at the next
meeting on the code along with general fire and fire safety information.
6. ADOURN
