Members present — Dottie Kaminski, Robert, Eldridge, Danny Campise, Paul Hickenbottom, Johnny Jones, Tom Dye, and Rick Guzman City Employees present: Fire Chief Mike Boaze, Assistant Fire Chief Donald Ladd, Fire Dept Administrative Assistant Tammy Kannarr Others present — City of La Porte Attorney Knox Askins, Citizens present — Ted Powell Danny Campise called the meeting to order @ 5:33pm. Donald Ladd spoke about the La Porte Fire Control, Prevention, and Emergency Medical Services District's purpose and budget. Danny Campise open the Public Hearing @ 5:52pm Ted Powell spoke on his concern for a sales tax increase to the small business in La Porte. Why all of the sudden does the Fire Dept need this money No one else spoke _✓Iinutes from the January 18, 2011 meeting was approved by a motion from Tom Dye, seconded by Johnny Jones, all in favor, motion carried. Discussions was held regarding funds not used by the La Porte Fire Control, Prevention and Emergency Medical Services District. Public Hearing closed @ 6:09pm Motion was made by Paul Hickenbottom to accept Resolution 2011 -1, seconded by Johnny Jones, all in favored, motion passed. Meeting for February 15, 2011 was set by a motion from Robert Eldridge, seconded by Johnny Jones, all in favor, motion passed. Discussion was held on the wording of the ballot A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Dottie Kaminski and seconded by Johnny Jones.
