Members_Present: Jack Oliphant, Betty T. Waters, Jerry _ Hill, Virginia Cline, Clint Hurt, Tom Simons, Frank Eader Nlembers_Absent: Andy Smith The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented. Chairman Oliphant advised that the following members had been reappointed to the Board by the La Porte Volunteer Fire Department: Fire Dept. member - Andy Smith - P.O. Box 993 - 1/31/87 Fire Dept. member - Jerry Hill - 20g Valley Brook - 1/31/87 Taxpaying voter - Betty T. Waters - 2202 26th St. - 1/31/87 Local Government Rep. - Virginia Cline, 328 S. Blackwell - 1/31/87 The Board considered for payment the bill for participation in S.B. 411 for the period January 1, 1985 through June 30, 1985, retirees and widows benefits under H.P. 258. A past due amount for July through December 1984 was also presented. Total amount of bill was $16,766.00. Motion was made_by Vir inia Cline to ~prove_this_bill for payment. Second by Tom Simons. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Oliphant, Waters, Hill, Cline, Hurt, Simons, Eader Nays: None The Fire and Drill Record for 1984 was presented for approval. Motior~was made_by_Clint_Hurt to approve the drill record as presented. Second by Jerry Hill. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. Box 436 - 930 South 3rd - 9742 Shell Rock Motion was made ~ Cline to_accept and approve the applications as presented. Second by Simons. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Oliphant, Waters, Hill, Cline, Hurt, Simons, Eader Nays: None There was some discussion concerning increased participation contribution for each firefighter by $5.00 a month, bringing the monthly contribution per man to $17.00. This was to be discussed with the Fire Chief prior to his preparing his budget for the coming year.
