One of the main concerns of the Board was the drainage problems at the golf course and wanting to know if these problems are going to be corrected by Carter Golf, Inc. Mr. Brady's concern was the fact that Carter Golf was approximately 98~ complete and he wanted to be sure this situation was going to be corrected to the City's satisfaction. Joel Albrecht, assured the Board that there was money in the retainage fund, plus an additional amount for this problem to be taken care of. Dennis also related that Carter Golf had already said they were going back in with a backhoe or dozer and re-cut the drainage, they are very aware of the problem. Status of the club house was discussed and the Board was made aware that the plans and bid specifications should be ready to be picked up on February 16th. Bids would be opened around the first of March. Dennis Dunham said that he had never seen the final plans and requested to look at them, he will be given a copy to review. • • r ~ U Golf Course Advisory Board Meeting Minutes February 4, 1988 Page 2 Bob Herrera brought up the question that if 9 holes of the course were ready by May 15th, could the course be opened for these holes until the rest is complete. Alex agreed that this could be done and everyone seemed to be in favor of doing this. Target date for opening the course is approximately June 1, 1988. The parking and entrance bids have been received and will be presented to council for approval. As soon as this is done the construction on this phase will start. • At this point in the meeting Mr. Hayes brought up the fact that it seemed that Thursday was a better day to have the Board meetings. The attendance was much better and it seemed more convenient for each member. Mr. Herrera stressed the fact that on Thursday the Board didn't have to rush to complete their meeting so Court could get in the Council Chambers. It was decided that Thursday, 12:00 noon would be the day for the Board meetings. Green fees and grolf cart rental fees: Moved from the beginning of the meeting to the last item for discussion. Jim Longnecker made a motion to accept the recommended rate structure presented by Alex, this motion was seconded by Ruede Wheeler. Mr. Hayes said that these fees were in the normal range with other courses. After discussion each member felt that these rates were what we should go with. Mr. Herrera said that this would probably be taken to City Council on the 22rd of February for their approval, he requested that some members of the Board be present, especially David Brady, Chairman. For the next meeting, staff was asked to supply the Board with some information on tournament play, annual fees and our affiliation with the high school. There being no further business, meeting adjourned at 1:35 PM • • ITEMS FOR GOLF COURSE BOARD MEETING • GOLF COURSE STATUS: DRAINAGE: Carter Golf, Inc. began work on the drainage problem Monday the 15th of February.
