LA PORTE AREA WATER AUTHORITY
May 23, 1985
1. Special called meeting was called to order by President Jerry Bramlett at 7:00 P.M.

Secretary Rick Matthews, Member Cary Burnley

OTHER PRESENT: City Attorney John Armstrong, Public Works Director Jerry Hodge,
Neil Bishop of Turner Collie & Braden, Seabrook City Manager Al Holguin, Seabrook
City Councilmen Helmut Kuehnel and Fred Shuman, Mayor of Shoreacres Charles
Ritterhouse, Shoreacres Alderman Richard Florance, Shoreacres Public Works
Representative Edward Nichols, Mayor of Morgans Point John Grimes, BAYMUD
Representatives R.C. Morris and Don Ralmuto, HGCSD representatives, Julie Mead
and Robert Thompson.
2. Neil Bishop presented the revised report to the Board with discussion of the
factors that constitute the totals. BAYMUD was not in agreement with their
water usage totals and Neil said the numbers could be changed again, but at
that point the numbers would have to stay as presented. He also reminded the
Board that the cost of the BIG 3 plant was an estimated cost and not a negotiated
one.
All entities involved would have until June 15, 1985 to decide to

Morgan's Point will have Neil Bishop and representatives of the Board present
to discuss the project at their City Council meeting June 12, 1985. Shoreacres
will do the same on June 24, 1985.
Mayor Grimes brought up the lack of representation on the Board of Entities outside
La Porte. John Armstrong spoke on the legal aspects of adding to the present
Board.
3. Al Fields moved to accept the contract change with Turner Collie & Braden, Inc.
noted in the letter dated May 23, 1985. Motion was seconded by Cary Burnley
and passed unanimously.
