MINUTES
LAPORTE AREA WATER AUTHORITY
JANUARY 8, 1986
1. The meeting was called to order by President Jerry Bramlett
at 7:00 P.M.
MEMBERS OF THE BOARD PRESENT: President Jerry Bramlett,
Vice-President Al Fields, Secretary Rick Matthews, Member
Cary Burnley.
OTHERS PRESENT: From the City of LaPorte: City Manager
Jack Owen, City Attorney Knox Askins, Director of Public
Works Jerry Hodge; From the City of Shoreacres: Mayor
Charles Ritterhouse, Councilmembers Richard Florence, Bill
Haiflick, City Attorney Bob Montgomery; From the City of
Morgan's Point: Mayor John A. Grimes, City Attorney Roy
Fuller; From the City of Seabrook: Acting City Manager
Evelyn Purswell, Councilmembers Helmut Kuehnel, Herb Miller;
From Baymud: R. C. Morris and James Keeney, Jr.;
Representing Greif Brothers, Gilles Ducharme; Representing
Port of Houston Authority, H. T. Kornegey; From WCID #50:
President Hugh Jenkins, Directors JoAnn Carr and William
Pearson, Attorney David Oualline, Engineer Charles Ballard;
Authority Attorney John Armstrong; From TC&B Dr. Neil Bishop
and Cecil Allen.
2. Introductions were made by Jerry Bramlett of the Water
Authority and he then introduced Neil Bishop of Turner Collie
& Braden. Dr. Bishop made a presentation of the costs changes
in the update. Questions were raised by WCID #50 and Shoreacres
as to their projected water demands. Dr. Bishop advised them
their projections could be changed but they must do so by the
end of January, 1986, in order to finalize contracts in February,
1986.
John Armstrong discussed the highlights of the contract and
emphasized that any major questions or issues be presented in
writing. He also agreed to meet with the entities and their
Attorney on an individual basis, if needed.

at 9:15 P.M.
