THE MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD MET THIS THE 11 th DAY OF JUNE, 2007,
3:30PM AT CITY HALL, CONFERENCE ROOM A, 604 W. FAIRMONT PARKWAY, LA
PORTE, TEXAS, WITH THE FOLLOWING PRESENT:

1. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 3:30pm.
2. MAIN STREET COMMITTEE REPORTS
Michaelyn gave an update as to the progress made by the subcommittee appointed by the board
and handed out the draft version of building usage to consider.
Tommy Moser recommended the board have a Community Meeting before the building usage
was taken to P & Z. Plans were made for board members to email any thoughts or concerns they
may have on the draft version to Debra Dye by Monday, June 18, 5:00pm for the subcommittee
to review and try to implement into the building usage plan. The public workshop date was
tentatively set for June 2ih at 5:30pm in old City Hall and go before P & Z on July 19.
This years Fall Back Festival will be held on September 21-23. The Friday and Saturday
festivities will be held downtown, and ball room dancing will be held at Sylvan Beach Pavilion
on Sunday.
The city budget process was discussed briefly and is in the development stage. A new budget
will be in place by the end of September.
The board would like to pursue researching firms for us to consider in performing a downtown
master plan and branding.
Efforts are being made to develop a training workshop for the Main Street Advisory Board in
Brenham, Texas.
The Main Street Association has been working on a web site. The board discussed that will
enable us to hold off on our web site development for a little while as we take care of more
pressmg Issues.
The board discussed establishing a store registry to log in visitors and customers to aid in
determining where the best locations are for advertising, etc. The details will be taken care of at
committee level
