Chairman Elsie Moore presided.
Commission members present were-;•E~Tell Brigham, Lois Compton,
Ruth Huddleston, Eugenie biller, Elsie Moore, George Norris, ti~Talter
Roberson, Fred Ruff, and Jerry Viniegra: Also present were; City
Commissioners; Dennis Dunham, Odell Brown, and Billy Stabs: The
members of the North Side Advisory Committee Dallas Aker, Rudell
Phillips, Earl Candler, and E.T: Taylor, were also in attendance:
The secretary read the minutes of the February i5, 1961 meeting:
Lois Compton made a motion seconded by George Norris that: The minutes
be Approved.
Notion Carried:e
Eugenie Miller discussed proposed changes
building permits. These proposed changes were;
1)~Add the words remodelling and moving to
2 List all buildings on the plot and show
3 State the intended use of the building,
4) Include an attest as to the accuracy of

Nlr. Odell Brown gave the following report:
Mr. Brown stated that when he was making an investigation into
• the drainage in an area of La Porte he noticed a house being constructed
only 15 feet from the front property 1 ine : i~r : Brown approached the owner
on the fact that the house was in violation of the Zoning Ordinance:
N,,r_-. Brown said that the City did not want to be unreasonable but the
house was in violation of the ordinance and was not built as far back
as 27 feet which was indicated on the application for the building
permit. The property owner appeared before the City Commission, ~Ifter•
some discussion the mwner agreed to move his house back the required
distGnce:~ There were no hard feelings and the owner ap~aeared to feel
that he was dealt with fairly: Elsie Moore complimented dlr. Brown on
the handling of this case.
An application for selling Beer and Bait at 1004 Bayshore Drive
in a building owned by 1~Ir. Cade, was disapproved on the basis that it
does not comply with the Zoning Ordinance:
A moving permit request made by Norris and Stanford for moving two
small houses into block 3~1, facing 5th street, was disapproved: The
request does not comply with the requirments of the Zoning Ordinance:
A motion to adjourn was made by Ruth Huddleston and seconded by Eugenie
Miller.
