MINUTES ~ CALLED MEETING

PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION, LA PORTE, TEXAS
MARCH 31, 1976
7:00 P.M.
MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Walter Roberson, J. H. Smith,
Wm. R. Shedelbower, Charles Christensen, and Kerry R. Beverly.
MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None.
OTHERS PRESENT: Jim Parson and Carlos Smith.
PRESIDING: Chairman Walter Roberson.

1. CALL TO ORDER - The meeting was called to order by Chairman
Roberson at 7:00 P.M.
2. CONSIDER HOUSE MOVING APPLICATION FOR JIM PARSON - Mr. Parson
was present to explain his intentions and answer questions for
the Commission members. Discussion centered on how far off
the property lines the building would set. Objections were
raised that the house being moved should be set back 25 feet
off the front property line to comply with the city code.
J. H. Smith made the motion to approve Mr. Parson's request
to move the house with the stipulation that all city code
requirements are met when the house is relocated. Mr.
Christensen seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous in
favor of the motion.

3. CONSIDER REZONING REQUEST OF DECKER MC KIM, LOTS 1?
THROUGH 32, BLOCK ?53, TOWN OF LA PORTE, FROM RESIDENTIAL
TO COMMERCIAL - Mr. Mckim was not present. Board members
discussed rezoning the property. W. R. Shedelbower made the
motion to deny the request. Mr. Christensen seconded the
motion. The vote was unanimous to deny the request.

4. CONSIDER APPROVING FINAL REPEAT OF BLOCKS 22, 23, 24
FAIRMONT PARK, SECTION II - Mr. Carlos Smith was present to
submit a request to approve the final plot plan for Blocks
22, 23, and 24 of Fairmont Park Addition. Charles Christensen
made the motion to approve the final replat for Blocks 22,
23, and 24 of Fairmont Park Addition. Kerry Beverly seconded
the motion. Unanimous vote in favor by board members.

• 5. CONSIDER APPROVING PRELIMINARY AND FINAL REPEAT OF BLOCKS 9
THRU 17, FAIRMONT PARK WE~Sfi,~ ~SE~CfiI~ON I - Mr. Carlos Smith
also submitted the preliminary and final replat for the south
half of Blocks 9 and 10 and Blocks 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and
17. Mr. Charles Christensen made the motion to approve both
the preliminary and final replat for the south half of Blocks
9 and 10 and Blocks 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 1? subject to
the approval of the City Engineer. Kerry Beverly seconded
the motion. The vote was unanimous in favor.
