FROM RESIDENTIAL TO ~"C"APARTMENT AND 'COMMERC'IAL - Mayor Meza
opened the Joint Public Hearing at 7:05 P.M. and asked if there
was anyone present desiring to speak for or against the rezoning
of Blocks 1218, 1445, and Tract 9, Johnson Hunter, Town of
La Porte, from Residential to "C" Apartment and Commercial?
MR. CHARLES CHRISTENSEN = CHAIRMAN OF'PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION -
~was recognized and addressed the Commission. Mr. Christensen
stated that Blocks 1218, 1445, and Tract 9, Johnson Hunter, were
brought into the City by annexation; all properties are
automatically brought into the City into the Residential Zoning
Classification. Mr. Christensen .further stated that there were
several businesses already located on some of the property in
question, at the time it was annexed into the City; and that the
Planning & Zoning Commission recommended that this property be
rezoned to "C" Apartment and Commercial District.
Mayor Meza asked if there was anyone desiring to speak
against the rezoning? There was no one desiring to speak.
• Motion by Commissioner Kibodeaux, seconded by Commissioner'
Simons to rezone Blocks 1218, 1445, and Tract 9, Johnson
Hunter, Town of La Porte, from Residential to "C" Apartment
and Commercial District. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
The Joint Public Hearing adjourned at 7:08 P.M.
