MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 4, 2004
COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT: Doretta Finch, Wayne Knox, Sidney Grant, Sue Sabin, Donna
Medford, Bill Manning, Leroy Jones, Delecia Turner, Rev. Tom
Rawls, and Tim Carter
MEMBER ABSENT: Chris Santiago, Nathan Brettinez
MEMBERS OF THE AUDIENCE: Betty & Leon Waters
CITY STAFF PRESENT: Planning Coordinator Masood Malik and Planning & Zoning
Commissioner Nick Barrera serving as Meeting Facilitator
1. CALL TO ORDER
Meeting called to order by Chairperson Turner at 7:10 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
Chairperson Turner called roll.
3. CONSIDER APPROVAL OF OCTOBER 7, 2004, MINUTES
Motion by Donna Medford to approve the Minutes of October 7, 2004. Second by Wayne Knox. The
minutes were approved unanimously.
Committee member Bill Manning introduced Betty Waters as ex-City official of Lomax & La Porte,
Chairperson of the Planning and Zoning Commission. Betty addressed the committee and reminded
them for the goals and objectives of these meetings.
4. REVIEW PROPOSED AREA MAP
The Committee reviewed and compared the Area Map with the Zoning Map. The Committee agreed
to exclude commercial area from the proposed district. Only residential areas should be included.
5. DISCUSSION REGARDING MINIMUM LOT SIZE AND DIMENSION
Committee Members shared opinions regarding minimum lot width of 100' and minimum acreage of
one-acre previously agreed by the committee. The Chairperson asked there be voting on the matter.
The Chairperson agreed to furnish the recommendations of the Committee to the Planning and
Zoning Commission for their consideration at a future meeting.

Chairperson Turner declared the meeting adjourned.
