P.M. There is no audiotape available for this meeting. COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT: Doretta Finch, Wayne Knox, Sidney Grant; Sue Sabin, Donna Medford, Bill Manning, Leroy Jones, Delecia Turner, Rev._Tom - Rawls, .and Chris Santiago COMMITTEE MEMBERS ABSENT: Nathen_Brettinez, Bebe Mora; Coring Garcia, and Tim Carter .CITY STAFF PRESENT: ~ ,Interim Planning Director Wayne Sabo, Planning Coordinator Masood Malik, and Planning & Zoning Commissioner Nick Barrera serving as Meeting Facilitator , 1.: WELCOME BY PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION CHAIRPERSON BETTY WATERS Planning and Zoning Chairperson Betty Waters was unable to attend the meeting. Planning and Zoning Commissioner Doretta Finch opened the meeting and welcomed everyone. 2. INTRODUCTION AND OPENING REMARKS Planning and Zoning Commissioner Nick Barrera introduced himself. , Mr. Barrera served as meeting facilitator. 3. ELECT CHAIRPERSON AND VICE CHAIRPERSON By general consensus, the Committee nominated and accepted Delecia, Turner as Chairperson and Leroy Jones as Vice Chairperson. 4. OVERVIEW, ROLE,'AND GOALS OF THE COMMITTEE Mr. Barrera described-the Lomax area. He presented case studies, along with.sample surveys, and . plats of the area 5. DISCUSSION AND REVIEW OF PUBLIC INPUT ON THE RURAL, SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION • . The Committee was provided an information packet, which included: Memo from Guy Sutherland dated August 3, 2004 re. Matters of. Concerri ^ Memo from John Joems dated August 24, 2004 re. Rural Development Standards ^ Excerpt from Code of Ordinances Section 106-333, Table B, Residential Area Requirements showing current and possible proposed requirements. ^ Numerous sections from the Code of Ordinances as reference material Mr. Barrera asked members to-.give their thoughts and state their preference with regard to the. typical. subdivision versus the large lot subdivision. Initially, Committee Members expressed their personal viewpoints, but then focused discussions on-the area as a whole:. There was some discussion on - 'maximum lot width at 90'-100'. No decisions/recommendations were made. 6.
