The meeting was called to order by Chairman Sidney Grant at 7:00 P.M. Members of the Board Present: Sidney Grant, John Albanese, Linda Mains, Bill Thompson Others Present: Bonnie Sokol, 310 Shoreacres Blvd. 2. The minutes of the February 25, 1982, meeting were approved as presented. 3. The Board considered a request for variance to the zoning ordinance requirement for a 25-foot building line for the front yard building line by Mrs. Bonnie Sokol at the corner of Roscoe and Lobit. There was lengthy discussion, but several questions needed to be answered by someone on the City Staff. Chairman Grant appointed John Albanese to seek the answers to these questions. ]uestion: Is Roscoe a dedicated street at this point? Why is this citizen denied a permit to build on Roscoe? Does the City have any plans to improve Roscoe? The Board agreed to meet Saturday morning at 10:00 A.M. to make a final decision. A motion was made by Mains to recess the meeting until 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 29, 1982. Second by Albanese. The motion carried and the meeting stood recessed. Saturday, May 29, 1982 - 10:00 A.M. The La Porte Zoning Board of Adjustment reconvened at 10:00 A.M. Members Present: Sidney Grant, John Albanese, Linda Mains, Bill Thompson Others Present: Bonnie Sokol - Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte Board of Adjustment May 27, 1982, Page 2 Chairman Grant Asked for a report from Albanese. Albanese reported Roscoe is a dedicated street on paper only, with no plans to improve that section at this time. Further, the front of a house is the side that faces the street. There is an ordinance designating that the front of bay houses may face the bay and the back faces the street. Another question concerned Fire and Police response and the departments felt there might be some confusion with a Roscoe address. Discussion followed. The Board decided to tour the property in question. 2S minutes later Grant presented the question again for the Board's considera- tion. Are we prepared to consider a variance to the front building line in this case, for a Lobit Street address? A motion was made by Thompson to the front building line at Lobit Mrs. Sokol.
