MINUTES
OF THE
LA PORTE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
MARCH 29, 1984
1. The meeting was called to order by vice-chairman Sidney
Grant at 7:00 P.M.
Members present:
Charlie Young
Members absent:
Others present:
Larry Williams
Sidney Grant, Linda Mains, Lawrence Farias,
Ronnie Rowell, Robert Swanagan, Andy Wilson
John Armstrong, Lamar Rollaway, R. Hooper,
2. The minutes of the meeting of February 9,-1984, were read
by Secretary Linda Mains. There being no additions or
corrections, the chair declared the minutes approved as read.
3. The Board considered the request of Mr. Richard Hooper for a
special exception to a rear yard setback.
Mr. Hooper explained his request 'to the board. He requested
a rear .yard setback special exception for section 2 of lot 6
tract 14 of the W. B. Root subdivision (Spenwick) in order
to be able. to utilize the property.
After questions from the board were answered, motion .was made
by Charlie Young to grant the request for a rear. yard setback.
Second by Lawrence Farias. The motion carried, 4 ayes, 0 nays.
Ayes: Mains, Farias, Young and Grant
Nays: None
4. The Board considered the request of Pulte Homes for a front
and rear yard setback special exception for block 4, lot 13,
Meadow .Park subdivision, section 1.
Mr. Larry Williams explained .that this lot is on a cul-de-sac
and the only way they can fit a home on it is to encroach on the
setback lines.
After discussion and questions, motion was made by Linda Mains
to grant the special exception to Pulte Homes for a front and
rear yard setback for block 4, lot 13, Meadow Park subdivision,
section 1. Second by Charlie Young. The motion carried, 4
ayes, 0 nays.

5. There being no further business to come before the Board, the
meeting was duly adjourned.
