Special Use Permit Blk. 797, Lts. 30,31,32, LP
Truck Terminal
The City has received a request from Highway Transport, Inc. for a
special use permit to allow expansion of the truck terminal facility
located at 520 S. 16th st.
History
Highway Transport, Inc. has been located at the 16th St. site since
they received a special use permit in mid 83. This facility washes
tank trucks and has done a good job of meeting all of the industrial
waste requirements set forth by the City. The request before you is
on three 25'X 125' lots directly adjacent and north of the present
site.
Analysis
This request has been reviewed with respect to both the existing
Zoning Ord. and the proposed comprehensive plan. No negative impact
either is seen on either the existing or proposed Ordinances. The
lots in question adjoin the existing site and will be used for trailer
storage and parking.
Recommendation
Based on the information discussed above the staff would recommend
that the request for a special use permit to allow a truck terminal be
granted on Blk. 797 Lts. 30,31,32, Town of La Porte.
