Fairmont Parkway Phone: (281) 471-5020 Planning and Development La Porte, TX 77571-6215 Fax: (281) 470-5005 www.laportetx.gov DECISION OF THE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT RE: Variance #VAR-2024- 0001 Shahana Akter P.O.Box 940161 Houston, TX 77094 SUBJECT: Decision of the Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBOA) The above-reference request was for adoption of a variance to allow deviations from Section 106-444(a) of the La Porte Code of Ordinances regarding required screening of commercial developments located adjacent to residential zoning districts. The variance was denied by the City of La Porte Zoning Board of Adjustment (“Board”) on July 25, 2024, by a vote of four (4) against the variance and zero (0) in favor. On this date, the Board found that the request does not meet the conditions set forth in section 106-192 of the City of La Porte Zoning Ordinance. Any interested person wishing to appeal this decision is required to file a petition for Writ of Certiorari in a district court, county court or county court at law within ten (10) days of the date this decision is filed in the Board’s office in accordance with section 211.011 of the Texas Local Government Code.
