Fairmont Parkway Phone: (281) 471-5020 Planning and Development La Porte, TX 77571-6215 Fax: (281) 470-5005 www.laportetx.gov DECISION OF THE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT RE: Variance #24-93000003 Javid Malik 3038 Winchester Ranch Trail Katy, TX 77493 SUBJECT: Decision of the Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBOA) The above-reference request was for adoption of a variance to allow for the construction of two (2) dwelling units constituting a duplex/townhome product. Specifically, variances were requested to allow deviations from 1) City of La Porte Code of Ordinances Section 106-1 (Definitions) regarding the definition of a townhome and 2) City of La Porte Code of Ordinances Sec.106-333 (Table B, Residential Area Requirements) regarding reduction in the side yard setbacks and an increase in density. The variance was denied by the City of La Porte Zoning Board of Adjustment (“Board”) on July 25, 2024, by a vote of four (4) against the variance and zero (0) in favor of the variance. On this date, the Board found that the request does not meet the conditions set forth in section 106-192 of the City of La Porte Zoning Ordinance. Any interested person wishing to appeal this decision is required to file a petition for Writ of Certiorari in a district court, county court or county court at law within ten (10) days of the date this decision is filed in the Board’s office in accordance with section 211.011 of the Texas Local Government Code.
