NOTICE FOR REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS RFQ #24601 PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR 2024 FUNDING OF HMGP, BRIC AND FMA PROJECTS The City of La Porte (the “City”) invites the submittal of responses to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from qualified firms interested in providing Professional Engineering Services for the City of La Porte for 2024 Funding of Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities Grant Program (BRIC), and/or Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant Program (FMA). The City of La Porte plans to apply for available grant funding offered under HMGP, BRIC, and FMA. These services are being solicited to assist the City in applications and, if award-ed to support eligible activities. Accordingly, the City is seeking to contract with a qualified engineering team that can provide support to the City’s Grant Administrator and then sup-port the City with completing professional services associated with awarded grants. The submittals will be opened immedi-ately after the closing hour on said date and only the names of those submitting proposals for consideration will be publicly read. NO LATE SUBMITTALS WILL BE CONSIDERED
This Request for Qualifications does not commit the City to award a contract or lease, or to pay any costs incurred as a result of preparing such a response. The City reserves the right to further negotiate with a respondent (and as may be required by law), or reject any and all re-sponses received, or to cancel in part or in its entirety this Request for Qualifications.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF THE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT ON VARIANCE REQUEST # 24-93000003
Notice is hereby given that the La Porte Zoning Board of Adjustment will conduct a public hearing at 6:00 P.M. on the 25th day of July 2024, in the Council Chambers of City Hall located at 604 West Fairmont Parkway, La Porte, Texas, in accordance with the provisions in Section 106-171 of the City of La Porte Code of Ordinances and the provisions of the Texas Local Government Code.
The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public input on Variance Request # 24-93000003 to allow a townhome/duplex product; a request made by Javaid Malik, applicant/owner, for variances to allow deviations from the requirements identified in Sections 106-1 (Definitions) regarding the definition of a townhouse to decrease the number of dwelling units required from three dwelling units to two dwelling units, 106-333 (Table B., Resi-dential Area Requirements) regarding a reduction in of the side yard setbacks on TRS 30 and 31 from 20 feet to 5 feet, and an increase in density (dwelling units per acre) from 10 dwelling units per acre to 15.38 dwelling units per acre on two tracts of land located at 1500 S.
