A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE UPON AWARD UP TO $141,052.63 FROM
THE HOUSTON URBAN AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE (UASI) THROUGH THE OFFICE OF
THE GOVERNOR OF TEXAS UNDER THE FISCAL YEAR 2025 UASI GRANT PROGRAM
AND TO EXECUTE ALL GRANT DOCUMENTS RELATING THERETO
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it in the best interest of the citizens of La Porte, Texas, that
the Mobile Barricade Project (Grant Number: 5603001) be operated for the 2025-2026 UASI Fiscal
Year; and
WHEREAS, the City Council understands no cash or in -kind match is required for said project as
authorized by the Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP); and
WHEREAS, the City Council agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the Office of the
Governor funds, the City Council assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of the
Governor in full; and
WHEREAS, the City Council designates the City Manager as the grantee's authorized official,
and the grant will be administered by the Office of Emergency Management. The authorized
official is given the power to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate the grant on behalf of the
applicant agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA
PORTE, TEXAS:
Section I. The Mobile Barricade Project (Grant Number: 5603001) is authorized for the 2025-2026
UASI Fiscal Year, subject to the terms of the HSGP grant application.
Section II. The City Manager is designated as the grantee's authorized official, with full authority
to manage the grant application and its administration as outlined herein.
Section III. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
