Council -appointed Officers Present: Corby Alexander, City Manager; Lee Woodward,
City Secretary
The City Facilities Naming Committee of the City of La Porte met in a meeting
on August 11, 2025, at the City Hall Council Chambers,
604 West Fairmont Parkway, La Porte, Texas, at 4:30 p.m.
1. CALL TO ORDER - Mayor Helton called the meeting to order at 4:32 p.m.
2. CITIZEN COMMENT - There were no comments.
3. STATUTORY AGEN DA
a. Renaming of Park - Presentation, discussion, and possible action to
recommend to the City Council the renaming of Little Cedar Bayou Park to
proposed name of Mary June Powell Park or Powell Park. [Corby Alexander,
City Manager]
Mr. Alexander provided an overview of the application and policy. No action was
moved but the Committee indicated it would appreciate the City Manager bringing
Council a revised ordinance for application compliance and an item removed from
the policy previously.
4. DJOUR - Without ob-ecti. a Mayor Helton adjourned the meeting at 4:41 p.m.
