Officers present: Colby Alexander, City Manager; Clark T. Askins, City Attorney; Lee
Woodward, City Secretary
The City Facilities Naming Committee of the City of La Porte met
on November 18, 2025, at the City Hall Council Chamber,
604 West Fairmont Parkway, La Porte, Texas, at 2:30 p.m.
1. CALL TO ORDER - Mayor Helton called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m.
2. CITIZEN COMMENT - There were no comments.
3. STATUTORY AGENDA
a. Approval of the minutes of the August 11, 2025, meeting [Lee Woodward,
City Secretary/PIO]
Member McCaulley moved to approve the minutes of the August 11, 2025,
meeting; the motion was seconded by Member Lunsford; the motion was adopted,
3-0.
b. Renaming of W. Tyler Street - Presentation, discussion, and possible action
to recommend that City Council rename W. Tyler Street, commemorating the
service of Councilperson Tommy Moser. [Corby Alexander, City Manager]
Member McCaulley moved to recommend to the City Council the renaming of W.
Tyler Street in honor of Tommy Moser; the motion was seconded by Member
Lunsford; the motion was adopted, 3-0.
c. Facility Naming Ordinance - Presentation, discussion, and possible action
to recommend edits to the City Council to Sec. 2-1 Policy for naming city
facilities of the City of La Porte Code of Ordinances. [Corby Alexander, City
Manager]
Member McCaulley moved to recommend to the City Council adoption of proposed
amendments to Sec. 2-1 Policy for naming city facilities of the City of La Porte
Code of Ordinances; the motion was seconded by Member Lunsford; the motion
was adopted, 3-0.
4. ADJOURN — Without objection, Mayor Helton adjourned the meeting at 2:40 p.m.
