A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE UPON
AWARD UP TO $60,000 FROM THE STATE HOMELAND SECURITY PROGRAM
THROUGH THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR OF TEXAS UNDER THE FISCAL
YEAR 2026 SHSP GRANT PROGRAM AND TO EXECUTE ALL GRANT DOCUMENTS
RELATING THERETO
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it in the best interest of the citizens of La Porte, Texas, that the Mobile
X-Ray program (Grant Number: 5914801) be operated for the 2026-2027 SHSP Fiscal Year; and
WHEREAS, the City Council understands no cash or in -kind match is required for said project as
authorized by the Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP); and
WHEREAS, the City Council agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the Office of the Governor funds,
the City Council assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of the Governor in full; and
WHEREAS, the City Council designates the City Manager as the grantee's authorized official, and the
grant will be administered by the Office of Emergency Management. The authorized official is given the
power to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
WHEREAS, the City Council designates the Assistant Finance Director as the grantee's financial officer.
The financial officer is given the power to submit financial and/or programmatic reports or alter a grant on
behalf of the applicant agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
PORTE, TEXAS:
Section I. The Mobile X-Ray Project (Grant Number: 5914801) is authorized for
Fiscal Year, subject to the terms of the HSGP grant application.
Section H. The City Manager is designated as the grantee's authorized official,
manage the grant application and its administration as outlined herein.
Section III. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
