A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF
AN APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS GENERAL LAND OFFICE (GLO) FOR FUNDING
THROUGH THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT —DISASTER RECOVERY
(CDBG-DR) AS PART OFTHE DISASTER RECOVERY REALLOCATION PROGRAM (DRRP)
TO SUPPORT THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE NORTHSIDE DRAINAGE
IMPROVEMENTS PHASE III PROJECT; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE CDBG-DR FUNDING;
PROVIDING FOR FINDINGS OF FACT AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Texas General Land Office (GLO) has invited the City of La Porte, Texas,
(City) to apply to the Disaster Recovery Reallocation Program (DRRP) for a flood and drainage
project valued up to $7,000,000.00 , qualifying as impacted by Hurricane Harvey; and,
WHEREAS, participation in the 2017 Floods and Storms (DR-4332) GLO Community
Development Block Grant- Disaster Recovery Program (CDBG-DR) requires the City to provide
proof or a resolution approving a local commitment of 10% and how it will be utilized for
construction, engineering, administration, environmental, or acquisition; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of City finds .that it is in the public's interest to submit a
CDBG-DR application for funding from the GLO for the Disaster Recovery Reallocation Program
(DRRP), to support funding the City of La Porte Northside Drainage Improvements Phase III
Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE,
TEXAS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City authorizes the submission of applications to Texas General Land
Office for construction funding related to the Disaster Recovery Reallocation Program
(DRRP) and Hurricane Harvey (DR-4332).
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to execute all documents necessary to
complete the transaction and accept any grant funding awarded in connection therewith.
SECTION 3. All resolutions and agreements and parts of resolutions and agreements in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of conflict only.
SECTION 4. It is hereby found and determined that the meeting at which this resolution was
passed was open to the public and that advance public notice of the time, place and purpose
of said meeting was given as required by law.
