Northside Neighborhood Plan Update
The City of La Porte, Texas has a vested interest in the continued growth and enrichment of the
Northside Neighborhood. In 2000, the City published the Northside Neighborhood Plan which
highlighted a number of issues in the community and resulted in proactive solutions such as the
increased presence of law enforcement, the construction of affordable housing options and the
removal of unwanted dangerous buildings. Now, 10 years later, it is time to update this plan, and
we need your input!
Come meet the staff and share ideas on how best to improve the North Side Community on
Thursday, November 10th at the Jennie Riley Community Center. This event is the start of a
process that we anticipate to take six months. At this meeting, we will discuss past projects from
the last 10 years, as well discuss the needs and wants of the community as it relates to the plan
update.
