Beautify residences and businesses
Promote repair of Deteriorating residences
Remove dilapidated buildings
Redesign ball park as a community center and recreational facility
Require all commercial dumpsters to be screened
Provide recognition for well-kept properties
Beautify medians and rights-of-way on Barbour’s Cut Blvd with assistance from Houston Port Authority and Harris County.

Encourage affordable housing and new home ownership
Provide down payment assistance to potential homeowners
Provide educational seminars on buying and owning your own home
Establish neighborhood as a “Neighborhood Empowerment Zone”
Seek out responsible developers to build affordable housing

Remove unwanted debris and underbrush on vacant lots
Install additional street lights
Increase police presence in Northside
Increase communication between police and local residents
Assist apartment residents to organize a tenant’s association to work with complex to improve living conditions and reduce crime
