HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2013-20 donation of the former Dewalt schoolhouse from LPISDRESOLUTION 2013-Z RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DONATION OF THE OLD SCHOOLHOUSE AT 401 NORTH 5TH STREET, BY THE LA PORTE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT TO THE CITY OF LA PORTE, AND ACCEPTING THE SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED FROM THE LA PORTE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT TO THE CITY OF LA PORTE, CONVEYING LOTS 17& 18, BLOCK 90, CITY OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; AND FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETING LAW. Hg IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF Lk PORTEs SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of La Porte has reviewed Resolution 2013-22, of the Board of Trustees of the La Porte Independent School District; and a Special Warranty Deed dated September 10, 2013, from the La Porte Independent School District to the City of La Porte, copies of which are attached hereto as Exhibit A and Exhibit B, and made a part hereof for all purposes; SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of La Porte accepts the donation of said real property and improvements, under the terms and provisions of said Resolution 2013-22; SECTION 3. The City Council officially finds, determines, recites, and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date, hour, place, and subject of this meeting of the City Council was posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, as required by the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code; and that this meeting has been open to the public as required by law at all times during which this ordinance and the subject matter thereof has been discussed, considered, and formally acted upon. The City Council further ratifies, approves, and confirms such written notice and the contents and posting thereof. SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be effective from and after its passage and approval, and it is so ordered. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS �DAy OF , 2013.
