GENERAL NOTES
01.
Contractor is to notify the City of La Porte ("the
City") Project representative 48 hours prior,. to
commencement of construction. The City project
representative will be appointed prior to the
pre -construction conference.
02.
Contractor is to notify Dist. 12, State Department
of Highways and Public Transportation 48 hours
prior to commencing work in the south Broadway
(Loop 410) right-of-way (i.e. water line crossing,
intersection of pavement struc ures, an or
resetting of existing culverts.)
03.
The Contractor is to provide adequate traffic
control measures for work performed in the south
Broadway (Loop 410) right-of-way (i.e. flagmen,
barricades, etc.) Additional compensation will not

be paid.
04.
Contractor is to make necessary precautions to
ensure trees are saved where indicated on the plan.
05.
The City is to provide an adequate area for
construction staging. The location of this staging
area will be announced. at the pre -construction
conference.
06.
Fire hydrants and valve numbers show on the plans
refer to City of La Porte utility maps.
07..
Elevations shown on the plans are based on NGS 1929
Datum with 1978 releveling. Reference bench mark
is La Porte Survey Monument No. 58, (a brass cap
w/punch mark located on the east side of Broadway,
south of ORB street, Elev. = 11-76)
08.
The Contractor is to verify the location of all
existing u tilities Drior to commencement of
construction. Utilities shown on the plans are to
be considered as approximate locations; others may
exist. The Contractor shall repair any existing
utility damaged during construction at his own
expense. Southwestern Bell telephone should be
contacted to uncover their cable adjacent to the
bore pit for the water line crossing of Broadway
St.-
09.
The Contractor is to follow recommendations in the
soils report prepared by Coastal Testing Laboratory
+
which has been furnished in the contract documents.
10.
The City shall arrange for afl materials testing
during construction operations at the City's
expense.
11.
The City has agreed to maintain Harris County Flood
Control District Unit A 104-12-01 within the golf
course boundaries. The Contractor is not required
to contact- HCFCD for permits and construction
inspection..
