GENERAL CONSTRUCTION NOTES
1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALL
DAMAGE TO THE EXISTING PUBLIC OR PRIVATE UTILITY LINES,
INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WATER LINES, WASTE WATER
COLLECTION SYSTEMS AND STORM SEWER, DURING
CONSTRUCTION. ALL DAMAGES SHALL BE REPAIRED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CITY OF LA PORTE, ENGINEERING DIVISION
"TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS" WITH LATEST ADDENDA AND
AMENDMENTS THERETO, WITH NO COST TO THE PUBLIC.
2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REMOVAL
AND LEGAL DISPOSAL OF ALL WASTE MATERIAL GENERATED
DURING CONSTRUCTION. WASTE MATERIAL MUST BE REMOVED
FROM THE WORK SITE AND DISPOSED OF IN SUCH A MANNER AS

TO BE FLUSH WITH PROPOSED FINISHED GRADE, WITHIN THE
LIMITS OF CONSTRUCTION. THIS SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED
TO: MANHOLE RIMS AND COVERS, WATER LINE VALVES AND GAS
VALVES. EXISTING COVER COVERED WITH ASPHALT CANNOT BE
REUSED AND MUST BE REPLACED.
5. ALL GRASS REMOVED SHALL BE REPLACED PER THE
SPECIFICATIONS. ALL EXISTING TREES WITHIN CONSTRUCTION
EASEMENTS SHALL BE PROTECTED.
6. ALL FILL SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED OF HORIZONTAL LAYER, SHALL
NOT EXCEED SIX INCHES LOOSE MEASURE AND SHALL BE
COMPACTED TO AT LEAST 95% STANDARD PROCTOR DENSITY AS
PER ASTM D 698 PROCEDURE. AREAS TO RECEIVE FILL SHALL BE
STRIPPED A MINIMUM OF FOUR INCHES PRIOR TO FILL PLACEMENT.
