AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING THE ALIGNMENT OF OLD LA PORTE
ROAD IN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE 1 FINDING
COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW 1 AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE HEREOF
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE
Section 1 The City Council of the City of La Porte hereby
ratifies and confirms the alignment of Old La Porte Road within the
corporate limits of the City of La Porte as more particularly
described on Exhibits nAn nBn and nCn attached hereto and
incorporated by reference herein and as more fully shown on a plat
attached hereto as Exhibit non incorporated by reference herein
and made a part hereof for all purposes
Section 2 The City Council officially finds determines
recites and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date
hour place and subject of this meeting of the City Council was
posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the
City for the time required by law preceding this meeting as
required by the Open Meetings Law Article 6252 17 Texas Revised
Civil Statutes Annotated1 and that this meeting has been open to the
public as required by law at all times during which this ordinance
and the subject matter thereof has been discussed considered and
formally acted upon The City Council further ratifies approves
and confirms such written notice and the contents and posting
thereof
Section 3 This Ordinance shall be effective from and after
its passage and approval and it is so ordered

BEGINNING at a 5 8 inch iron rod found at the west corner of said 10 2624 acre tract at the
intersection of said Old ll Porte Houston Road based on a GO fOOl wide right of way and the
south right or way line of Houston Drive width varies same being an angle point of the north
line of that certain tracl of land described as 12 741 acres in a deed to Louisiana Chemical
Equipment Company Inc recorded under File Number 0743734 Film Code 153 32 21 O of said

THENCE SOUTH 890 23 18 East along said south right of way line and the west line of said
10 2624 acre tract a distance of 90 73 feet to an angle point of said Houston Drive and said west

60 00 feet in width lie between the South right of way line of
the original 100 00 feet wide G H S A Railroad right of way

Houston Road located in Lot 9 of the F A Staashen Tract
according to the map recorded in Volume 1 Page 22 Map Record
of Harris County Texas This tract of land is part of that
certain 60 00 feet wide strip of land referred to as old
abandoned La Porte Houston Road in that certain transaction where
by F N Staashen conveyed Lots 8 and 9 of the F A Staa hen
Subdivision to A W Hill on April 14 1948 s evidenced by the
instrumenTrecorded in Volume 1760 Page 93 of the Harris County
Deed Records This part icular part l f the aforementioned tract
is further described as Tract B 2 7189 Acres in that cert ain
transaction where by A W Hill conveyed certain properties to I
W Hickham Jr on March 27 1972 according to the in trument
recorded under Harris County Clerk s File No D 60280 In this
instrumenTthetract is referred to as old Houst on La Porte
Road This portion of the old La Porte Houston Road is more
particularly described by metes and bounds as follows
Beginning at the Northwe t corner of this tract of land and
from which a copperweld wa found South 1 degree 21 minute 49
seconds West a distance of 0 17 feet Thi corner is also the
Northwest corner of the aforementioned 2 7189 acre tract conveyed
to 1 W Hickham Jr by A W Hill and the Nort heast corner of
that certain 2 978 acre tract of land conveyed by A W Hill to
Humble Pipel ine Company on Augu t 23 1966 as evidenced by the
deed recorded in Volume 6486 Page 401 Harris County Deed

Thence South 69 degrees 43 minutes 43 seconds East
coincident with the North right of way line of the old Houston
La Porte Road and the South boundary line of the original one
hundred feet wide G H S A railroad right of way a distance
of 1973 60 feet to a point for the Northea t corner of this tract
and from which a 3 4 inch iron pipe was found South 84 degrees 36
minutes 18 seconds West a distance of 1 01 feet
Thence South 0 degrees 29 minutes 38 seconds West a
distance of 63 76 feet to a point for the Southeast corner of
this tract and from which a 3 4 inch iron pipe was found North 0
degrees 29 minute 38 second Ea t a distance of 0 51 feet and a
5 8 inch iron rod was found South 84 degree 30 minutes 11
seconds West a distance of 0 93 feet

coincident with the South right of way line of old Hou ton
