AN ORDINANCE MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR SUPPORT OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1971 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1972, AND LEVYING A TAX OF $.92 ON EACH $100.00 of ASSESSED VALUE OF ALL REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN SAID CITY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS: .. Section 1. For the purpose of providi~g a bu~get for the fiscal year b~ginni~g October 1, 1971 and endi~g September 30, 1972, an Ad Valorem Tax of $.92 on each $100.00 of assessed value of all real and personal property located within the City of La Porte is hereby levied and such tax shall be collected under and by the authority of this City and of the State of Texas, and the sums set forth below be and the same are hereby appropri- ated for the maintenance, operation and improvement of the Government of the City of La Porte, and the same shall be strictly applied for the several purposes and in the respective amounts hereinafter specified. Section 2. That the amounts appropriated and the purposes for which the same shall be spent be as follows: '. Administration Airport Civil Defense Commission Fire Department Health & Sanitation Municipal Court Police Department Parks & Recreation Shop-Motor Pool-Warehouse Streets & Alleys G.O. That the Director of Finance, with .~. -r approval of the City Commission, may transfer a sum from one fund to another item within a fund, except that the Bonded Debt Service funds shall not be subject to such alteration by anyone, not even the City Commission; and . . -. -. . e Ordinance No. - 890, P!=lge 2 that a sum may be transferred from one fund to another fund only on the authority of an ordinance passed by a majority of the City Commission. Section 4. That this ordinance will take effect from and after its pass~ge, and it is so ordained. PASSED AND APPROVED, this the 27th day of September, 1971.
