ORDINANCE NO. 896 AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING RATES FOR LA PORTE TAXI COMPANY; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND A REPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND UPON CONVICTION SHALL BE FINED IN ANY SUM NOT MORE THAN TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) AND EACH DAY OF VIOLATION SHALL BE DEEMED A SEPARATE OFFENSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: Section 1. The City Commission of the City of La Porte has approved the above rates for La Porte Taxi Company, upon its application, and based upon its representation that the above rates were in effect prior to July 15, 1971, the begin- ning of the base period for wages and prices under the wage- price freeze declared by the President of the United States. Section 3. The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. . . . . . . Ordinance No. 896 , Page 2. Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 5. Any person, firm, corporation, association, partnership, trustee, or any agent, servant or employee thereof who shall violate any provision of this ordinance, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor an.~.upon conviction shall be punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00). Each day any violation of this ordinance shall continue shall constitute a separate offense. Section 6. This Ordinance shall be effective fourteen (14) days after its passage and approval. The City Clerk shall give notice o~ the passage of this ordinance by causing the caption hereof to be published in the official newspaper in the City of La Porte at least uwice within ten (10) days after the passage of this ordinance.
