<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 70-10 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, DARLENE ADAMS ALBAN met an untimely death in a <br />skydiving accident on October 25, 1970; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Darlene Adams Alban was an avid reader, and a <br /> <br />friend and supporter of all libraries; a graduate of La Porte <br /> <br />High School; and greatly enriched the La Porte community <br /> <br />through her membership in the Girl Scouts, the Keyettes Club, <br /> <br />and the La Porte Community Church; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a reference room at the La Porte Public Library <br /> <br />will be furnished from contributions to the Darlene Adams Alban <br /> <br />Memorial Fund; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte deems <br /> <br />it appropriate to establish a memorial to Mrs. Alban, in recog- <br /> <br />nition of her many contributions to the La Porte community, <br /> <br />and as a token of sympathy to her family and friends: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE, <br /> <br />That the reference room at the La Porte Public Library is <br /> <br />hereby designa"ted the "Darlene Adams Alban Reference Room," as <br /> <br />a memorial to Darlene Adams Alban. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED, this the 21st day of December, 1970. <br /> <br />/ <br /> <br /> <br />By <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />~~~ <br />.R'.-/ <br />C~ C er <br /> <br />APPROVED: <br /> <br />~~~~ <br /> <br />C~ty Attorney <br />
