RESOLUTION NO. 70-10
WHEREAS, DARLENE ADAMS ALBAN met an untimely death in a
skydiving accident on October 25, 1970; and
WHEREAS, Darlene Adams Alban was an avid reader, and a
friend and supporter of all libraries; a graduate of La Porte
High School; and greatly enriched the La Porte community
through her membership in the Girl Scouts, the Keyettes Club,
and the La Porte Community Church; and
WHEREAS, a reference room at the La Porte Public Library
will be furnished from contributions to the Darlene Adams Alban
Memorial Fund; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte deems
it appropriate to establish a memorial to Mrs. Alban, in recog-
nition of her many contributions to the La Porte community,
and as a token of sympathy to her family and friends:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF LA PORTE,
That the reference room at the La Porte Public Library is
hereby designa"ted the "Darlene Adams Alban Reference Room," as
a memorial to Darlene Adams Alban.
PASSED AND APPROVED, this the 21st day of December, 1970.
