ORDINANCE NO. 933 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 999b, VERNON'S REVISED CIVIL STATUTES, TEXAS, AN ACT GRANTING TO A COUNTY OR A MUNICIPALITY THE POWER TO PROVIDE SERVICES OF ITS LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TO ANOTHER SUCH COUNTY OR MUNICIPALITY UNDER STATED CONDITIONS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINBO BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: Section 1. The City Commission of the City of La Porte hereby adopts the provisions of Article 999b, Vernon's Revised Civil Statutes, Texas, an act granting to a county or a munici- pality the power to provide services of its law enforcement officers to another such county or municipality under conditions stated therei.,n. . Section 2. The regularly employed law enforcement officers of the City of La Porte are authorized, upon direction of the Chief of Police or his duly authorized assistants, to assist any other county or municipality, when in the opinion of the Mayor, or other officer authorized to declare a state of civil emergency in such other county or municipality, there exists in such other county or municipality a need for the services of additional law enforcement officers to protect the health, life, and property of such other county or municipality, its inhabitants, and the visitors thereto, by reason of riot, . unlawful assembly characterized by the use of force and violence, or threat thereof by three or more persons acting together or without lawful authority, or during time of natural disaster or man-made calamity. Section 3. It is the intention of the City Commission of the City of La Porte to adopt all of the provisions of Article 999b, Vernon's Revised Civil Statutes, Texas. Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval. PASSED AND APPROVED, this the 7th day of August, A.D. 1972. . ,- .,c', .." .
