ORDINANCE NO. 1246
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF
THE ALLEY IN BLOCK ELEVEN HUNDRED THREE (1103), IN THE TOWN OF
LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the hereinafter described portion of said alley
in Block Eleven Hundred Three (1103) of the Town of La Porte
has never been opened or used as a public thoroughfare, and
the public utilities now making use of such alley have all
given their written consent for its closing; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte has
determined and does hereby find, determine and declare that
the hereinafter described portion of the said alley is not
suitable, needed, or beneficial to the public as a public
alley, and should be vacated, abandoned and permanently closed;
NOW, THEREFORE" BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LA PORTE:
Section 1. That that portion of the alley located in
Block Eleven Hundred Three (1103) of the TOWN OF LA PORTE,
Harris County, Texas, described as follows, to-wit:
Being the North Three Hundred Fifty Feet
(N.350') of the alley in Block Eleven
Hundred Three (1103), TOWN OF LA PORTE,
Harris County, Texas, being the portion
of the alley situated between Lots One
(I) through Fourteen (14), both inclusive,
on the West side of the block, and Lots
Nineteen (19) through Thirty-two (32),
both inclusive, on the East side, and
being sixteen feet (16') wide and three
hundred fifty feet (350') in depth,
is hereby permanently vacated, abandoned and closed by the
City of La Porte.
Section 2. The City Council officially finds, deter-
mines, recites and declares that a sufficient wri tten notice
of the date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the
Ci ty Council was posted at a place convenient to the publ ic
at the City Hall of the City for the time required by law
preceding this meeting, as required by the Open Meetings Law,

Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated; and
that this meeting has been open to the public as required by
law at all times during which this ordinance and the subject
matter thereof has been discussed, considered and formally
acted upon. The City Council further ratifies, approves and
confirms such written notice and the contents and posting
thereof.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
