Pursuant to the provisions of The Certificate of Obligation Act of 1971, as amended (Art. 2368a.1, V.A.T.C.S.), NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of La Porte, Texas, proposes to issue up to Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars ($800,000) in aggregate principal amount of Certificates of Obligation of said City, bearing interest at such rate or rates as may be permitted by law at the time of issue and maturing serially or otherwise in installments over a period of not exceeding ten (10) years from the date of issue, all as may be fixed by the City Council, for the purpose of paying the c<?st of constructing and equipping a Public Works Center Building and related facilities, all of which Certificates of Obligation will be payable solely from ad valorem taxes upon all taxable property within the City. The City proposes to authorize the issuance of said Certificates of Obligation at the regular meeting place of the City Council in the City Hall of said City on the 1st day of October, 1980, at 7:00 o'clock P.M., or at a subsequent meeting or meetings of City Council. ORDINANCE NO. /~:l~ AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF THE INTENTION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, TO ISSUE CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: Section 1. Pursuant to the provisions of The Certificate of Obligation Act of 1971, as amended (Art. 2368a.1, V.A.T.C.S.), the City Council of the City of La Porte directs the City Secretary of the City of La Porte to cause to be published, in its issues tit of September 11, 1980, and September 18, 1980, in the Bayshore Sun, the off icia1 newspaper of the City of La Porte, the "Notice of the Intention of the City of La Porte, Texas, to Issue Certificates of Obligation" in the form attached hereto as Exhibit "A", which is incorporated by reference herein and made a part hereof for all purposes. Section 2. The City Council officially finds, determines, reci tes and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council was posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall 4It of the City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, as required by the Open Meetings Law, Article 6252-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated: and that this meeting has been open to the public as required by law at all times during which this ordinance and the subject matter thereof has been discussed, considered and formally acted upon. The City Council further ratifies, approves and confirms such written notice and the contents and posting thereof. Section 3.
