AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF THE
INTERSECTION OF PARK AVENUE AND SAN JACINTO AVENUE; AND PROVID-
ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte has
been requested by the record owners of all of the property
abutting the hereinafter described portion of the intersection
of Park Avenue and San Jacinto Avenue, to vacate, abandon, and
permanently close said portion of the intersection of Park
Avenue and San Jacinto Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte has

determined, and does hereby find, determine and declare that
the hereinafter described portion of the intersection of Park
Avenue and San Jacinto Avenue is not suitable, needed, or
beneficial to the public as a public road or street, and that
the closing of the hereinafter described portion of the inter-
section of Park Avenue and San Jacinto Avenue is for the pro-
tection of the public and for the public interest and benefit,
and that the hereinafter described portion of said intersection
of Park Avenue and San Jacinto Avenue should be vacated, aban-
doned, and permanently closed;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF LA PORTE:
Section 1. Under and by virtue of the power granted to
the City of La Porte under its Home Rule Charter and Chap. 13,
Title 28, Art. l17S, of the Revised Civil Statues of the State
of Texas, 1925, the portion of the intersection of Park Avenue
and San Jacinto Avenue, which portion is described in Exhibit
"A" and pictured in Exhibit" B", each of which Exhibits are
attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference, is hereby
permanently vacated, abandoned, and closed by the City of

Section 2. The Ci ty Commission officially finds, deter-
mines, recites and declares that a sufficient written notice
of the date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the
City Commission was posted at a place convenient to the public
at the City Hall of the City for the time required by law
preceding this meeting, as required by the Open Meetings Law,
Article 62S2-17, Texas Revised Civil Statutes Annotated; and
that this meeting has been open to the public as required by

law at all times during which this ordinance and the subject
matter thereof has been discussed, considered and formally
acted upon.
The City Commission further ratifies, approves
and confirms such written notice and the contents and posting
thereof.
Section 30 This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.

MEETS AND BOUNDS DESCRIPTION
Being a 3,942 square foot tract of land in the Town of La Porte,
411ohnson Hunter Survey, A-3S, Harris count~, Texas; situated South of
and coincident with the South boundary line of Lot 16, Block 305,
according to the Map of La Porte as recorded in Volume 60, Page 113
of the Harris County Deed Records and is more particularly described
by meets and bounds as follows;
Beginning at a 5/8 inch iron rod set for the Northeast corner of
Lot 17 and the Southwest corner of Lot 18, all in Block 305, Town of
La Porte.
Thence, S 250 48' 44" W; coincident with a straight line pro-
jection of the West right-of-way line of Park Avenue (100 feet in
width); a distance of 98.62 feet to a point for curve.
Thence, following a curve to the right; said curve having a
central angle of 1260 56' 16" and a radius of 15.00 feet; for an arc
distance of 33.23 feet to a point 0f tangent.
tI Thence, N 270 15' W; coincident with a straight line projection
of the North right-of-way line of San Jacinto Avenue (100 feet in
width); a distance of 98.62 feet to an "X" cut in concrete.
Thence, following a curve to the left in a Southeasterly direction,
coincident with the existing South boundary line of Lot 16 & Lot 17,
Block 305; said curve having a central angle of 1260 56' 16", a, radius
of 64.23 feet and a long chord having a bearing of N 890 16' 52" E
and length of 114.94 feet; for an arc distance of 142.31 feet to the
POINT OF BEGINNING.
