RESOLUTION NO. ~~-5..3
WHEREAS, the Harris County Commissioners Court has
called an election for January 29, 1966, for the issuance of
$60.8 Million Dollars in Road Construction and Right-of-way
Bonds; and
WHEREAS, $20.2 Million Dollars of the Road Construction
Bonds, if approved, will be spent in the construction of roads in
the La Porte area, which will greatly benefit the City of La Porte
and its residents; and
WHEREAS, said Bond Issue also proposes the issuance of
$25 Million Dollars in Bonds to purchase right-of-way for future
road construction, including State Highway 146, which goes through
La Porte;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS:
That the City Commission of the City of La Porte go on
record as being strongly in favor of the issuance of said $60.8
Million Dollars in Harris County Road Construction and Right-of-way
Bonds, and that the City Commission of the City of La Porte urges
all qualified voters in La Porte and surrounding areas, to vote in
fa~or of the issuance of said Bonds on January 29, 1966.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
