1157

AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF
THE ALLEY IN BLOCK ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY-FIVE (185), IN THE
TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the hereinafter described portion of said alley
in Block One Hundred Eighty-five (185) of the Town of La Porte
has never been opened or used as a public thoroughfare, and
the public utilities now making use of such alley have all
given their written consent for its closing; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte has
determined and does hereby find, determine and declare that
the hereinafter described portion of the said alley is not

suitable, needed, or beneficial to the public as a public
alley, and should be vacated, abandoned and permanently closed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF LA PORTE:
Section 1. That that portion of the alley located in
Block One Hundred Eighty-five (185) of the TOWN OF LA PORTE,
Harris County, Texas, described as follows, to-wit:

Being that portion of the alley in Block One Hundred
Eighty-five (185), TOWN OF LA PORTE, Harris County,
Texas, situated between Lots Six (6) to Thirteen
(13), inclusive, on the west side, and Lots Fourteen
(14) to Twenty-one (21), inclusive, on the east side,
and being bounded by East Polk Avenue (formerly
North A Avenue) on the north side and being bounded
by the East-West alley in said block on the south
side, and being sixteen feet (16') wide and two
hundred nine feet (209') in depth,
is hereby permanently vacated, abandoned and closed by the
City of La Porte.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 6th day of June, 1979.
