ORDINANCE NO. 1159
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING ALL OF THE
ALLEY IN BLOCK ELEVEN HUNDRED SEVEN (1107), IN THE TOWN
OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the said alley in Block Eleven Hundred Seven
(1107), in the Town of La Porte, has never been opened or used
as a public thoroughfare, and the public utilities now making
use of such alley have all given their written consent for
its closing; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of La Porte has
determined and does hereby find, determine and declare that
the said alley is not suitable, needed, or beneficial to the

public as a public alley, and should be vacated, abandoned and
permanently closed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF LA PORTE:
Section 1. The alley located in Block Eleven Hundred Seven
(1107) in the Town of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, is hereby
permanently vacated, abandoned and closed by the City of La Porte;
provided, however, there is expressly reserved a utility easement
for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, for a downguy, which
utility easement is legally described as the North Twenty Feet
(N.20') of the West one-half (W.1/2) of said alley.

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
