ORDINANCE NO. 1090

AN ORDINANCE MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR SUPPORT OF THE
GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1977, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30,
1978, AND LEVYING A TAX OF $1.05 ON EACH $100.00 OF
ASSESSED VALUE OF ALL REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY LOCATED
WITHIN SAID CITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
LA PORTE, TEXAS:
Section 1. For the purpose of providing a budget for
the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1977, and ending
September 30, 1978, an Ad Valorem Tax of $1.05 on each
$100.00 of assessed value of all real and personal property
located within the City of La Porte is hereby levied and such
tax shall be collected under and by the authority of this

City and of the State of Texas, and the sums set forth below
be and the same are hereby appropriated for the maintenance,
operation. and improvement of the Government of the City of
La Porte, and the same shall be strictly applied for the
several purposes and in the respective amounts hereinafter
specified.
Section 2. That the amounts appropriated and the purposes
for which the same shall be spent be as follows:

Airport
Civil Defense
Fire Department
Inspections & Permits
Municipal Court
Parks & Recreation
Police
Sanitation
Streets & Alleys
Public Works Administration
Fire Marshal
Carpenter Shop & Warehou$e
Motor Pool
Special Items

Section 3. That the Director of Finance, with approval
of the City Commission, may transfer a sum from one fund to
another item within a fund, except that the Bonded Debt Service
funds shall not be subject to such alteration by anyone, not
even the City Commission; and that a sum may be transferred
from one fund to another fund only on the authority of an
ordinance passed by a,majority of the City Commission.
Section 4. That this ordinance 'will take effect from
and after its passage, and it ~s so ordained.
